I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE MY JOURNEY OF 17 YEARS OF MENTORSHIP N TEACHI NG KIDS ENGLISH LANGUAGE FROM STD 2ND TO 12TH CBSE N STATE BOARDS. IT’S BEEN LIKE A GARDENER WHO NURTURES HER GARDEN WITH MYRIAD OF COLOURFUL BLOOMIMG FLOWERS OF ALL VARIETIES. EVERY FLOWER NEEDS SPECIAL GROOMING , ATTENTION, AFFECTION, WARMTH, PERSEVERANCE N PATIENCE. THE STUDENTS ARE INDEED LIKE FLOWERS. THEY BLOOM AT THEIR OWN TIME. WHAT ONE NEEDS TO GIIVE THEM IS TREMENDOUS SUPPORT, ENCOURAGEMENT, TIME N CORRECT GUIDANCE.

FROM SINGHANIA UNIVERSITY, RUN AN ENGLISH COACHING ACADEMY NAMED “ BRIDGE ERUDITE ACADEMY “ WHICH COACHES STUDENTS FROM CLASS 2ND TO 12TH ENGLISH LANGUAGE SCHOOL ACADEMIC SYLLABUS OF CBSE BOARDS AND STATE BOARDS, WHICH INCLUDES READING, WRITING, LITERATURE AND GRAMMAR . IT HAS BEEN 17 YEARS OF COACHING AND I HAVE BEEN GIVING EXCELLENT RESULTS EVERY YEAR. LAST YEAR A STUDENT OF MINE, MS. BHUMI RANA STUDENT OFCLASS 1OTH CBSE BOARDS, BROKE THE RECORD OF SCORING 100/100 IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE . FROM A GROUP OF 4 STUDENTS MY JOURNEY EXTENDED AND HAS REACHED TO A CLASS OF 278 STUDENTS AT PRESENT. EVERY YEAR A NEW SET OF CLASS 10 MAKES ME FEEL PROUD BY SCORING MORE THAN 80 PERCENTAGE. IT’S THE BIGGEST REWARD WHEN PARENTS AND STUDENTS ACKNOWLEDGE THE HARD WORK. I HAVE BEEN KNOWN FOR MY INNOVATIVE WAYS OF TEACHING GRAMMAR AND WRITING SKILLS .
A BRIEF OF HOW IT ALL STARTED. BROUGHT UP IN MUMBAI , I HAD SETTLED IN VADODARA ,KNOWN AS THE CULTURAL CITY OF GUJARAT. I TOOK A BREAK POST DELIVERY AND STARTED HOME TUITIONS STARTING WITH 4 KIDS TEACHING THEM ON A DINNING TABLE. IT GAVE ME IMMENSE CONTENTMENT TEACHING THEM AND ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY FELT KINDLED ON GETTING BETTER RESULTS. EVENTUALLY THE PASSION KEPT GROWING AND I KEPT MYSELF IMPROVING EVERY DAY WITH NEW INNOVATIVE SKILLS. I REALISED THAT IT WAS NOT JUST TEACHING BUT IT NEEDED A LOT OF MENTORING SKILLS. EVERY CHILD HAS A DIFFERENT CAPACITY AND ABILITY OF GRASPING POWER. WE CANNOT COMPARE THEM BUT TRANSFORM THE WAYS OF TEACHING. INFACT EVERY CHILD INSPIRED ME TO DISCOVER NEW WAYS OF LEARNING. HENCE MY TAG LINE OF MY ACADEMY IS “DISCOVER NEW WAYS OF LEARNING.”
GRADUALLY , THE WORD OF MOUTH SPREAD AND BETTER RESULTS GOT ME MORE STUDENTS, BUT I WAS AWARE IT CAME UP WITH ALL THE MORE RESPONSIBILTY AND CHALLENGES. I SURELY DID NOT GIVE UP BUT THE QUEST TO BRING THE BEST RESULTS ULTIMATELY REDIFINED ME EVERY TIME. I CAME UP WITH NEW IDEAS AND INNOVATIVE METHODS TO SIMPLIFY THE GRAMMAR TOPICS IN A FUN LEARNING WAY . ESPECIALLY IN A CITY WHERE LOCAL LANGUAGE IS PROMINENTLY SPOKEN AND CHILDREN ARE LESS INTO READING. BUILDING AN ENGLISH BACKGROUND BECOMES MORE DIFFICULT. I FACED SEVERE CHALLENGES TEACHING THEM WRITING SKILLS AND VOCABULARY. NOT EVERYONE IS CREATIVE OR EXPRESSIVE. I HAD TO TEACH THE STUDENTS TO ELUCIDATE, ELABORATE AND WIDEN THEIR THOUGHT PROCESS. FINALLY WITH SPECIAL HACKS, I GOT THE KNACK OF IT AND EXPERTISED IT. IT WAS AMAZING TO SEE CHILDREN SCORING THEIR BEST AT WRITING AND GERAMMAR SKILLS.
WHEN IT COMES TO ACADEMIC ENGLISH SYLLABUS, THE CHECKING IS NOT UNIFORM. LANGAUGE CHECKING IS DETAILED INCLUDING ,GRAMMATICAL ERRORS, SPELLING MISTAKES N PUNCTUATION ERRORS. INFACT A SINGLE LITERATURE QUESTION CAN BE ASKED IN HUNDRED DIFFERENT WAYS. STUDENTS HAVE TO BE TAUGHT TO DECODE THE QUESTION AND ANSWER IT WITH CORRECT CONTENT. ITS ALL ABOUT BEING PRECISE WITH ANSWERS AS WELL AS THE LANGUAGE. IT WAS CHALLENGING WITH DIFFERENT TEXT BOOKS OF DIFFERENT SCHOOLS AND CLASSES. THAT IS WHEN I DECIDED TO RECRUIT A SUBORDINATE FOR ASSISTANCE. WITH TWO ASSISTANTS IT BECAME EASIER TO COPE UP WITH THE SYLLABUS OF DIFFERENT SCHOOLS ASND MEETING UP THE DEADLINES WITH EXAM SYLLABUS.
DURING INCEPTION , I RENTED A PLACE FOR THE CLASSES BUT WITH GOD”S GRACE I BROUGHT MY OWN COMMERCIAL PLACE AND REGISTERED MY ACADEMY OFFICIALLY. EVERY YEAR I FOCUS ON IMPROVING AND BRINGING IN NEW REFORMATIONS. GRADUALLY I REALISED THAT SOME STUDENTS NEEDED A SPECIAL SUPPORT FOR READING AND LEARNING FOR WHICH I ARRANGED EXTRA CLASSES AFTER DISCUSSION WITH PARENTS. WITH BOTH PARENTS WORKING , IT HAS BECOMIMG CHALLENGING FOR THEM TO HELP THEIR KIDS WITH THE ACADEMIC STUDIES. THIS IS WHERE WE PLAY A PIVOTAL ROLE. THE HECTIC MODERN LIFE AND COMPETITIVE WORLD HAS BROUGHT A LOT OF PRESSURE ON THE STUDENTS. I , THEREFORE MAKE SURE TO SIMPLIFY THE STUDY SO THAT IT BECOMES HASSLE FREE FOR THE STUDENTS TO GRASP AND LEARN. A TEACHER”S DUTY IS NOT ONLY TO TEACH BUT MENTOR THEM WITH FULL INVOLVEMENT AND DEVELOP AN UNDERSTANDING WITH THEM.
PARENTS HAVE BEEN GRATEFUL TO ME FOR TAKING AWAY THE PRESSURE OF STUDYING ENGLISH SUBJECT. I MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO TEACH IN SUCH A MANNER THAT THEY LEARN EVERYTHING IN THE CLASS ITSELF AND GIVE THEM NO HOMEWORK. I MAKE THEM LEARN THE FULL PAGE ANSWERS WITH SUCH HACKS THAT CAN AVOID ROTE LEARNING. THEY HAVE TO BE TAUGHT TO READ BETWEEN LINES WHEN IT COMES TO LITERATURE. THIS ENABLES THEM TO ANSWERS ANY REFERENCE TO CONTEXT EASILY. CHARACTERSKETCHES AND VALUE BASED QUESTIONS ARE TAUGHT IN FLOW CHART METHODS WHICH ENABLES THEM TO CONNECT EVEN THE LENGTHIEST ANSWERS. A TEACHER IS SUPPOSED TO EVEN GUIDE THEM TO EXECUTE THEM IN A CORRECT MANNER WHEN IT COMES TO EXAMS. SO I MAKE SURE TO ASSES THEM AFTER EVERY TOPIC AND CHAPTER , WHICH MAKES THEM REALISE , WHERE DO THEY NEED TO IMPROVE
IT ALL COMES WITH TIME AND EXPERIENCE. I HAVE ATTAINED MORE KNOWLEDGE ANS SKILLS MORE THAN WHAT I HAVE ACCOMPLISHED. I AM EXTREMELY GRATEFUL TO MY STAFF WHICH INCLUDES THREE MORE WOMEN , WHOSE UNFLINCHING SUPPORT HAS MADE ME REACH THIS PINACLE.
